3D DESIGN FUNDAMENTAL

Aim : To construct a 3D floating object (boat) using recycled material

Objective :

  • to create environmental awareness through the art learning
  • to identity places where recyclable material can be collected
  • to identity the best possible ways of reuse of recyclable material collected
  • to design a main structure of 3D floating object based from subject matter studied
Methodology :
  • from the selection of 3 subject matter (insect/plants), the students will do reconstruction of the form using steel wire for FORM and structure understanding
  • one best structure will be selected as part of the further design development for 3D water floating object. Further reference regarding of water vehicle must be done extensively in order to understand the 3D water floating object concept
  • collection of recyclable material will be gathered and students need to identify the best possible ways in reuse it for 3D water floating object construction. The construction and building understanding in earlier task will be applied in the final task.
Task 1
  • Task 1 need to find the three TANGIBLE subjects from nature (insects or plants).
  • This is the three object i do and only one i choose for my task 2.
  • From task 1, i need to combine both structure as one to becomes "BUG BOAT".
  • The size of subject matter not bigger than 2 feet.

First subject matter : Leave 



Second subject matter : Bottle



Third subject matter : Turtle 

Task 2
  • From task 1, i choose the best subject matter before i do the task 2.
  • After that, rebuilding of the selected subject matter and selected water vehicle using wire by the size of 1.5 feet.
  • Than, combine both of the structure as one it becomes "BUG BOAT" with size not bigger than 2 feet.
